Week 10, Apr. 6-12

On Monday night, Lily slept for 10 hours!! And on Tuesday night, she slept for 7 hours, from 10:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. That sure makes Mom and Dad happy! I hope she keeps that up.

Michelle's parents sent us a videophone called Beamer TV, where you can see each other on the TV screen while you talk. It's pretty cool! While it's connecting, Lily could see herself on TV (first picture), and she was clearly interested in that (second picture). Once it's connected, you can see both the person you're calling and the your own transmission. Here we are talking to Lily's Lola in Virginia (third picture) -- note the baby's big smile when talking to her Grandma! I sent my parents a videophone too, which we can hopefully try out soon.

We've been exercising more to get Lily to lift her head up when she's laying on her stomach. She finally made some progress on Saturday, and we were so excited! It's like we invented a robot, and the parts are starting to work right.

I carried her in one of those hang-on-your-chest sacks. She's supposed to face inward (face against my chest) until she can hold up her head, but she didn't like that, so I faced her out -- and to our surprise, she held up her head! For the whole time she was in the carrier! Maybe she just didn't have anything interesting to look at before?

I still keep trying to teach her to stand up. Now I only have to hold one of her arms. She's making a lot of developmental progress this week, but her partial standing is what amazes me the most.

She can't sit up straight yet -- but we can fake it with two Boppies. :-)

Lily got her first report card from day care. It says, "Lily has had a great day. She has been smiling and talking to us a lot."

Here are Mommy and Lily napping while Daddy was getting ready for work this morning.

This is just another gratuitious smiling picture that us parents always love to see. (It still sounds a little creepy to say "us parents" -- and not just because it's bad grammar.)

My friend Justine had her second baby boy on Sunday, named Cameron. Now she's outnumbered: three boys vs. one girl!

Here's Lily's baby friend Madeline sitting with her mom Michelle.

And here's her friend Cailey, in a happy mood. The three of them are practically fraternal triplets because they were born so close together!

Lily's Aunt Carrie is cooking up a little cousin as we speak. Here you can see the, um, ... well that blob part there is ... can anyone ever see anything in early sonograms??
