Week 12, Apr. 20-26

Our digital camera broke! But, seeing as how (a) it makes taking care of infants much more fun, and (b) not having one would mean the end of ObenauerWeb as we know it, Michelle and I sprung for a new camera. It's mostly the same as the old one.

Lily's "Cool Development Progress of the Week" is that she can grasp some small objects. Here she's playing in her bouncer. Last week she could hit the red and blue toys, but not the middle yellow one. Now she can hit all three, and sometimes grabs and holds them. Go Lily!

If you snap the picture fast enough, it looks like Lily is standing on her own the instant Mommy lets go of her! But only until gravity kicks in.

There was a small carnival very close to our house on Saturday, so we took Lily out for a stroll in her Baby Bjorn.

We called my parents on the videophone. Mom, Dad, and Carrie all took turns talking to Lily. This is a great invention!

Well, not all our pictures are of a smiling baby! This week has been especially bad for Lily crying as loud as she can. Could be teething again, or gas, we don't know.

Here's Mommy dancing with Lily to calm her down.

She wasn't all screams this week. She did have some quiet happy moods!

Here's one of those rare big smiles we love to get on camera!

Michelle thought these outfits were cute and wanted to take pictures of them. I think they look indistinguishable from most of her other clothes. She does have a few outfits I think are cute, like the pumpkin costume I'm dressing her in on Halloween. Don't worry, it'll be on the web page!

Grandma Blackwell ("Lola") came to visit for a few days! Michelle goes back to work on Wednesday, the same day I'm heading to Houston for a conference, so Lola came to help Michelle the first couple days (and nights) she's back at work. We're grateful for her help!

Lily generally likes riding in carrying bags (this one's a Snugli). She wasn't crying here, but she does have some grumpy expressions on her face! It may be because the sun was shining in her eyes, which she really hates.

For the Clemson fans in the family, here are some gratuitous shots of Lily in her tiger paw outfit.

Lily is more alert in the early morning, around 6 or 7 a.m. Michelle has been having Mommy-Lily playtime in the mornings, singing her songs, moving her arms and legs around, and making funny sounds and facial expressions. We got some great photos here of Lily having a great time!
