Week 14, May 4-10
Lily rolled over by herself for the first time this week. We laid her
on her tummy to practice lifting her head, and we were surprised to watch
her flip over onto her back. This sounds really dull when you don't have
a baby, but now that we've got one, it's actually exciting!

Sunday was Michelle's very first Mother's Day. Lily gave her a flower that
she got from day care, and Daddy helped Lily pick out and sign a Mother's Day
card. The paint splotches are supposed to be Lily's handprints. It's rather difficult
to hold the baby with one arm, and aim her hand into a pool of paint with the other arm,
and then try pressing her hand down flat on a card. Lots of paint ended up on Daddy,
baby, and parts of the kitchen.

Day care also helped Lily make a butterfly out of her hand outlines. How come
their artwork came out so much neater?! Jerks.

We bought two new toys this week. One looks like a small swingset with toys
hanging off of it. The people at Lily's day care said it was her favorite toy
there. They would just lay her under it, and she smiles and laughs for a long
time! It doesn't even do anything. The other babies aren't that interested in it,
but she loves it. The version we bought plays a song at least.
The other toy is foot-activated, but she's not as excited about that one.

Here are some cute pictures of Michelle playing with her baby.

These closeups crack me up! Especially that third one. It's a moment
of terror where she's thinking, "I'm stuck with these parents for life!"

Lily laughs when I blow raspberries on her tummy. Note my stylish hair! That's
what it looks like every morning before showering.

This is our fashion show for the week. I like the bathrobe with little ears on it,
but I think she has some growing to do before it fits. Michelle loves the little
sandals in the second picture. They do seem to help her stand better, which is cool.

This is the hat part of the fashion show!

Here's our friend Cailey, and that's her big brother Colin in the second picture.
