Week 20, June 15-21

Lily is teething in a big way now. Months ago her gums were sore and she kept wanting to bite down on everything, and she drooled a lot and cried. Now her gums feel swollen and she's been crying and irritable again. Hopefully a tooth will pop out soon and give her some relief. Sunday night she woke up almost every hour (ugh!), but she made it up to us Monday night by sleeping soundly for 8 hours.

Sunday was Father's Day (a first for me!). Michelle helped Lily stamp her painted feet on cards for her two Grandpas, and on a t-shirt for me. Thanks for my nice present, Lilykins! Michelle made fun of me for making a painting mess with her birthday and Mother's Day cards, but now I have my revenge.

Michelle's company gave her department tickets to a Memphis Redbirds baseball game in the company suite. Lily got to see her honorary-triplet sisters there. In order of birth, here are photos of Cailey, Lily, and Madeline. Hey, that's not the right dad in Madeline's picture!! (She was trying out Lily's baby carrier.)

Older brothers Colin and Cameron came to watch the baseball game too. An hour or so after these photos, poor Cameron knocked his head on a table edge and got a huge goose egg bump.

Lily's still having a blast in her walker, and getting more mobile. We cleared out most of the floor in the family room to give her more space, and she scoots happily around the room now.

We helped Lily try sitting up by herself, which for some reason she thought was really fun. I had a hard time picking just a few photos to put here because she's smiling and laughing in 19 of them. (I took 46 pictures of her trying to sit up! Yes, I went overboard, but digital camera "film" is free!)

Lily's second try at eating carrots was a surprisingly big success. She ate the whole jar!

Here are a couple of outfits from this week.

We got a new baby carrier for Michelle, so now we both have one. This was her first time lugging Lily around like this -- well, unless you count those nine months...

Lily dozed off on Mommy this evening! It's always cute (and a relief!) when she's sound asleep.
