Week 21, June 22-28
My parents came to visit this week. This was their first time meeting Lily.
(They couldn't come sooner because of a strange and not-yet-diagnosed illness
my dad has.)

Here are Grandpa Chuck and Grandma Jean holding their granddaughter.

They helped take care of Lily a lot and played with her.
(She didn't go to day care on Tuesday or Wednesday.)

Here's Grandma feeding our baby.

Grandpa is apparently telling Lily something she finds very funny!

Grandma sat with Lily on the back porch and enjoyed the woodsy scenery.
In the last picture Lily is biting the hand that fed her.

Grandpa became a comfortable bed. Lily laid there peacefully and drifted
off to sleep.

Grandma bought some children's books and started reading to her. Lily grabbed
happily at the pages and decided that books are also good to eat.

See the direction Lily's laying in in the first picture? That's perpendicular
to how we put her there! She rotates around in her sleep. We were worried at first
because this week she started rolling onto her stomach at night (second picture),
but she can also lift her head up and move to avoid suffocating (third picture).
(Hospital staff told us not to lay her on her stomach to sleep, but that when she
learns to roll herself onto her stomach it's not a danger anymore.)

She hasn't started crawling yet, but she can move around her bed like an inchworm.
She pushes her head into the bed, butt in the air, and straightens back out. In
the morning she sometimes has her head pressed against the end of the bed!

While my parents were in town we went to see the ducks at the Peabody Hotel,
and went on the Duck Tour that splashes into the Mississippi River. I'm blowing on
a "quacker" in the third picture.

Here are a couple new outfits this week. Notice that the second outfit
has cute matching socks!

Here's Lily with her cool sunglasses-on-her-head fashion statement.
(Actually I put them on her head and she didn't like it very much!)

Lily likes a small doll that Michelle's friend Ann gave her. We named her
Pinky Tuscadero. Lily also realized that she can hold Pinky in one hand
and grab her foot with the other. Way to multitask!

We went out to Roadhouse Grill, a nearby steakhouse, on my parents' last night here.
