Week 24, July 13-19

Lily got her first invitation to a party! It's for Cameron's 3rd birthday.

We bought a small chair that you can put on the couch or floor -- like a high chair, but not high ("low chair"?). Now we might be able to sit with her on the couch and eat dinner while she plays. It's already come in handy when feeding her carrots and other jar food, because the chair takes the place of one person holding her up.

Some weekday mornings we start playing with Lily in our bedroom, forgetting momentarily that we have to leave for work!

Of course, we're not always cleaned up and dressed for work when we're playing with her -- and yes, that is baby vomit on my shirt sleeve! Parents are walking napkins.

This is her first remote control toy. Usually I drive it around near her, and she picks it up and drops it on its side, so that it can't move anymore. Is that intentional? Hmmm.

This toy works like a gumball machine, where you load four balls into its open top and press a lever to make them come out. I showed Lily the lever and got her to press it a few times. She liked rolling the balls around. She got impatient, though (and inventive), and realized you can just knock the whole machine over to get the balls out, which was much easier!

I put Lily on this toy horse every few days, but today was the first time she started enjoying it. She held onto the mane to stop me from lifting her off of it.

We had another good round of eating carrots, where we scraped the jar for every last spoonful because she was still hungry. So far she's had carrots, squash, sweet potatoes, mangos, peas, and green beans. She likes everything except the green beans.

It's never too early to teach computer skills! Here's Lily hard at work, telecommuting to day care.

I sat her on the couch to get an outfit picture, but then realized that the couch is a little too squishy for her to sit up on by herself!
