Week 30, Aug. 24-30

Michelle was away on a business trip for four nights, so Lily and I led the bachelor life together! It wasn't quite as carefree as I remembered it...

We saw this baby-sized recliner while we were out shopping, and knew it had to come home with us! Here you see the bad habits Lily learned from me while Michelle was away. We're lounging lazily in our recliners, each clutching a bottle.

After last week's crawling extravaganza, which has continued every day, we decided to buy some baby gates. Here's one that fences in an area as a play yard. This should help cage her nicely so we don't have to worry where she's crawled off to!

I continued her important education in the Simpsons with my second favorite character, Bart.

I put the new gate around her play mat, so now we could let her play in here while reading or exercising in the room that faces this one. She played happily with her toys, apparently not bothered by her new imprisonment.

Lily has been sleeping upstairs in her crib. This morning Mommy brought her downstairs, and I wasn't yet persuaded to get out of bed, so Lily played next to me.

This is a particularly cute outfit she wore this week.

Lily continues to crawl around everywhere, getting faster. Her legs must be getting stronger. Here you can see she uses objects (like Daddy) to pull herself up on her knees and then onto her feet. Walking may come soon!! I hope so.

Here's another hint that walking isn't too far away: she saw a box she wanted to grab in this wooden thing that props up our bedroom TV. She was so focused on reaching the box that she probably didn't notice she was holding herself up with one hand. Go Lily!! Use those legs!
