Week 43, Nov. 23-29

Ever since last week, when she started being more mobile, Lily has been in a great mood and a lot of fun to be around. She crawls, stands, walks a little (leaning on things), and smiles and laughs a lot. I know it probably won't last, but I'll enjoy the good times while I can!

This week was Lily's first Thanksgiving. It was just the three of us. We had turkey and some side dishes, and Lily ate pumpkin pie for the first time. She loved it!

We started our Christmas shopping, and took Lily along. She was excited by all the toys and bright colors.

There was a merry-go-round in the mall, and Michelle rode it with her. She didn't like the up-and-down motion sitting on the horse, so Michelle just held her.

In the food court, we let Lily try feeding herself vegetable puffs while we ate. I thought she was doing really well as the star-shaped puffs disappeared, but then saw most of them on the floor!

Back at home, Lily did some shopping by catalog.

She started getting better at feeding herself later in the week, with a higher in-mouth vs. on-the-floor ratio.

We didn't put Lily in this chair -- she just crawled into it while she was playing and stayed there! Maybe she's copying our couch-potato behavior.

We moved her play mat to the family room to fit her new train track into her other play room. (Pretty much the whole house is Lily's play area!)

To bring a little order to the toy madness, we bought a plastic tub to use as a toy box. We laid it on its side, though, so Lily can dig through her toys while she's playing.

She's made a lot of fast progress this week standing and walking, largely thanks to the toys she has to stand up to play with. Her hand-eye coordination has improved so she can drop colored balls into the holes (she couldn't do this when we bought this toy months ago).

Lily loves playing with these colored balls. We played together on the floor, rolling the ball back and forth to each other.

Carrie and Frank got photos taken with Becca. I think the mouth-open picture is the cutest.
