Week 45, Dec. 7-13

We got kicked out of our day care center last week! Kids R Kids said Lily is unhappy there and cries too much. We don't really believe that (we've watched her on their Internet camera). The real reason is probably that Daddy questioned one of their policies and argued with them about it. So we had to find a new day care center, and Michelle says I better behave myself this time!!

Lily adjusted very well to her new day care center, La Petite Academy. She cried a little the first two mornings, but both days she was fine all afternoon. Her new teachers are really nice and treat her well.

One of her friends from Kids R Kids, Caroline, had her first birthday party this weekend. Lily liked being around the other kids. She even liked the party hat! That's Caroline in the fourth picture.

We were very happy to see that Cathy and Madonna came to the party. They were the teachers in Lily's first room at Kids R Kids, and they were great. Lily smiles at them a lot and is always happy to have them hold her.

On Saturday we waited in line at the mall for Lily to see Santa. She wasn't too happy about sitting on this weird-looking stranger's lap!

After her traumatic Santa visit, we got her some cherry-flavored ice in the mall's food court. She held it herself. We tried taking it from her to peel the paper down so she could eat the rest of it, but she didn't want to let go!

At home we got her to feed herself some ravioli pieces. Each time she put one in her mouth, we'd say "Yay!" and clap. She loved the yay's and the clapping! She kept raising her hands in the air like an Olympic gymnast.

Lily had fun being jostled around in the laundry basket.

Then she started banging on another laundry basket, and kept laughing like it was the most fun thing in the world! (Now really, does this look like a baby that cries too much?? You can tell that line just isn't sitting well with me.)

If you zoom in, you can see Lily's lower tooth in the first picture, and her two front teeth in the second picture.

Here's a historic moment: Lily's first TV dinner! Get used to these, kid! (We don't do a lot of cooking.)

Michelle took this shot of Lily and I sleeping. Look at those arms on our heads! It must be genetic.
